Deutsche Kreditbank AG (DKB) and Retailo GmbH are introducing the sale of digital gift cards via online banking, starting with Facebook, Nintendo eShop and Spotify.
Deutsche Kreditbank AG`s customers can now purchase gift cards for Facebook, Nintendo eShop and Spotify online, using their online bank accounts. Thanks to this cooperation between DKB and Retailo, bank customers may now buy gift cards as part of their regular online banking process. With this novelty in the German market DKB is extending the range of existing online services for its customers. “Our experience with pre-paid credit for cell-phones offered in our online banking service has been very positive,” says Tilo Hacke, board member for private customers at DKB. “By offering digital gift cards we are taking a step further towards e-commerce. We are going to expand this services in the near future.”
Convenience and security
Whether for personal use or as a gift, digital gift cards are now available conveniently and secure for DKB customers. Retailo GmbH’s Christian Lindner says: “We have been consistently developing our digital distribution channels for gift cards. This cooperation is an important step in making our product range available digitally for bank customers.”
DKB customers can chose different values of the three providers’ gift cards. The process is fast, just a simple click – and the purchase is secured by a TAN or pin query. DKB debits the chosen value to the customer’s account, thereafter Retailo and DKB deliver the gift card digitally. It can be used immediately, without a limited prepaid credit and payment details must no longer be provided to several gift card services.
